3-5pm: The Harmonica Pocket
Equal parts silly & sweet, The
Harmonica Pocket is a young-at-heart band bursting with songs you can’t help but hum.
From their cozy hometown of Port Townsend, Washington, they bring a musical playground wherever they go. The Harmonica Pocket has serenaded kids, parents, and everyone in between in theaters, parks, festivals, museums, schools, and libraries, from small rural towns to faraway cities.
Their shows are lively and joyful — full of catchy tunes, quirky props, and just the right amount of mischief to keep everyone on their toes.
Using a loop pedal like a musical magic trick, The Harmonica Pocket builds a band right before your ears. One by one, instruments like acoustic guitar, ukulele, bass, harmonicas, and even wah-wah guitar solos stack up into songs that feel fresh, colorful and full of life.
3pm: Live Painting with Mike Biskup
Keeth Apgar and
Mike Biskup
go way back… they both love music and art and they’ve both spent lots of time sharing what they do in front of lots and lots of folks of all ages. For this celebration they felt it would be fun to join forces and see what happens. During Harmonica Pocket’s performance, Mike will bring his easel on stage and create a painting from scratch in real time. Mike always listens to music while he paints, and the music always seems to work its way into whatever is happening on the paper. Because Mike almost always works with total spontaneity… Nobody knows how the colors will flow!
Meet Fin the Fish!
1-3pm
Within Fin, you will find a beautiful mural depicting watershed habitat, offering a magical opportunity to learn about the watershed we live in, and what animals may be dependent on the health of our stream systems. The North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) is a community-based non-profit organization that works with willing landowners and volunteers to perform salmon habitat restoration on the North Olympic Peninsula. NOSC is one of fourteen Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups in Washington State dedicated to salmon recovery. The North Olympic Salmon Coalition works to promote robust wild salmon stocks for families, fishers, and local economies by furthering habitat restoration and education on the North Olympic Peninsula.
