LOCALvore, all day!

LOCALvore is a way for community to show their support for our local farms, regional food, and our local businesses! We believe that the more dollars are spent locally the more our local dollars get recycled back into our community. Supporters can shop/dine/drink out at some of their favorite places-- all for a good cause.

The Tumwater Tap Room is participating in LOCALvore by committing 10% of May 8, 2024 proceeds to the Community Farm Land Trust.

South Sound Polygots & Language Learners, 6:30-8

This group is for anyone who loves languages, anyone who is learning a new language and looking for people to practice conversation with, and anyone who speaks multiple languages. Whether you know a little or a lot of your target language(s) you are welcome here. Meet some new people, make some new friends. We'll be focusing on offline events, but may have a few online to give everyone a chance to participate.

Our priority is on keeping events in family friendly venues, removing barriers to language practice wherever possible. This means that persons who are sober have options for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and teens are able to connect with others for language practice as well. Some events may not be suitable for very young children, and please no unaccompanied persons under age 18.

We acknowledge that we occupy the ancestral lands of the southern Salish Sea, and we believe that the language of the peoples of this land, Twulshootseed, is as valuable as all other languages. We are thankful this language is being revived, and we reserve space for Twulshootseed speakers at all events. We encourage recognition of, respect for, and education in this and other indigenous languages.

Free to attend!
