HELP WANTED IN SEATTLE:

Finnriver Seattle Farmer's Market Crew

The Finnriver Seattle Farmer’s Market Crew works to celebrate and sell Finnriver products at regional markets around the Seattle area. Our markets present the public face of Finnriver at our regional urban markets and help us to support our mission to ‘serve the land with cider,’ to make new friends for our farm and our products, to grow sales of our cider and wine, to encourage visits to the farm, and to celebrate our local food community! Our Market crew is responsible for conducting the daily operation of the assigned market booth, including transport and stocking of product and supplies, offering public tastings, making and tracking sales, creating attractive and effective market displays, managing inventory of product and tasting supplies, and both set up and taking down of the booth. The work is part-time, varying with season, about 5-20 hours per week throughout market season. Pay based on experience; plus commissions on sales.

  

Finnriver Tasting Room Hosts- Chimacum, WA

Finnriver is looking for hard-working, open-hearted and enthusiastic people-people and lovers of land to work weekday and weekend shifts in our tasting room at the Orchard & Cider Garden in Chimacum.  We seek folks to help us share, celebrate and sell our cider and to promote our mission of reconnecting people to the land that sustains us!
 
The Finnriver Tasting Room is the vital epicenter of our Chimacum cider garden and the place where we make new friends for the farm. We seek tasting room hosts who are motivated to join us and who have direct customer service experience (ideally in retail, wine, beverage or food industries) who will help create a delightful, memorable, clean, organized, educational and exceedingly welcoming environment to promote growing sales of cider & wine, as well as offering a famously friendly Finnriver interaction and an inspiring Chimacum farm experience overall.  The tasting room can be a very dynamic environment, requiring the ability to stay energized, speak up, entertain a crowd, and multi-task effectively while maintaining composure and grace in the presence of customers and co-workers.  Self-motivation to tidy, organize and remain occupied with cleaning, stocking and other tasks is required as well. Good humor and love of humanity is essential. The work is part-time and shift frequency can vary seasonally.   Mandatory training includes MAST permit and Food Handler’s cards (Finnriver covers the costs and time).  Some positions are seasonal hires only.

Finnriver Assistant Cook for Food Service

Finnriver offers local food service on weekends with our bratwurst plates and salads.  We are looking for hardy and good-humored and experienced food service professionals to help with food prep, grilling and plating food.  Excellent food safety protocols required and a spirit of adventure working in our dynamic farm environment.  Part time on weekends and evenings.

Finnriver Youth Cider Garden Attendants- Chimacum, WA

The Cider Garden Attendants help serve customers and support the Tasting Room hosts and food service staff at the Finnriver Cider Garden.  Attendants help with dish-washing, set-up of tables, tents and decorations; deliver food orders in a speedy manner; keep tables clean and chairs in order; take away plates, utensils and drink ware back to the Cider Shed to be washed, thrown away or recycled; make sure guests have what they need; answer questions; do trash and recycling; restock supplies; and reset tables for the next service. Customer politeness and attentiveness, and a neat and appropriate appearance, are necessary.   

Cider Garden Attendant shifts occur during Saturday 12-9pm and Sunday 12-6pm. Open position available for youths 14 and up.  This position requires a food handler's card and a minor work permit from parents.

California Outreach Crew  ~  Events & Sales

We are seeking a Bay Area or LA resident to help us grow and make more Finnriver friends in California! The Finnriver California Outreach Crew (Events & Sales) position will help to increase our exposure, grow our community of support and increase sales in the CA market, focused primarily on the Bay Area but including all markets.  This position is responsible for working with our CA distributor and national sales ambassador to generate and conduct events and to promote positive contact with accounts and with the public. The ideal crew member would be hard working, organized, personable, professional, and flexible, with the ability to work independently and in a very dynamic environment.  We are searching for someone who believes in our product and our mission of small-scale family agriculture and artisan cider craft.  Excellent communication skills, sense of humor, grace under pressure and human kindness required. The work is part-time, up to 40 hours per month, with the potential for more hours especially during summer months; Events are primarily weekends and evenings. Must have transporation and ability to lift 25lb cases of cider.  Must love humanity and feel inspired to help Finnriver make more friends in California!

Farm & Orchard Internships

Farm & Orchard Internship:

For summer of 2017, Finnriver is offering a combined farm/orchard internship combining vegetable and berry crop production, poultry and pig husbandry, grains and apple orcharding.  

In partnership with the Jefferson County FIELD program, Finnriver offers seasonal farm and/or orchard internships of varying durations. The FIELD (Farming Innovation, Education & Leadership Development) Program is a farm-based internship program developed by Jefferson County farmers and the Washington State University Extension Small Farms Team.

FIELD provides interns the opportunity to study sustainable agricultural enterprises and community-based production systems at diverse farms in the Jefferson County area. Interns are provided formal instruction, field-based application of information, and involvement in projects on farms that produce and market vegetables, fruit, small berries, field crops, poultry, and livestock. Each is based on a host farm that provides a home base with weekly opportunities to observe and engage in different business and marketing approaches through activities at different farms and community resources throughout the season.
